ADA Digital Accessibility Policy
At Community Health Systems, Inc., we are committed to providing digital content and services that are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We want CHS.net, and the digital properties of affiliated entities and facilities, to be accessible for use with screen readers, voice recognition software and other kinds of assistive technology. We continually work to increase the accessibility and usability of our websites and digital content. Our policy is to provide information and communication technology that complies with applicable laws and guidelines regarding accessibility for people with vision, hearing, mobility, cognitive, and other disabilities.
Ongoing Compliance Efforts
We set quality standards and constantly strive to meet or exceed the standards and guidelines of Section 508, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) versions 2.1, 2.2 level A and AA Success Criteria and Conformance Requirements. Some of the measures we take for the accessibility of our digital properties, including websites and mobile applications, are:
- Include accessibility as part of our non-discrimination and equal opportunity policies.
- Integrate accessibility into our procurement practices.
- Provide accessibility training.
- Include feedback from people with disabilities in our digital design and compliance efforts.
- Evaluate our sites and applications with regular accessibility audits using a range of testing tools to identify and address potential accessibility barriers.
- Collaborate with advocacy groups, industry partners, and usability specialists to meet or exceed the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability.
- Monitor changes in digital accessibility standards and address changes as necessary.
